1. Controller
Meowsiam is the data controller for personal data processed through the Service. Contact: [email protected].
2. What we process and why (legal bases)
- Account data (email, display name, hashed password) — performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)): we need it to provide your account.
- Content you create (cat photos, training logs, journal, Companion chats) — performance of a contract: storing and displaying your content is the Service.
- AI processing of photos (breed identification, 3D renders) — performance of a contract: you explicitly submit each photo for processing.
- Subscription and billing status — performance of a contractand legal obligation (tax/accounting).
- Security logs — legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): keeping the Service secure and preventing abuse.
We do not profile you for advertising and we make no automated decisions with legal effect.
3. International transfers
Our servers and service providers (hosting, AI processing, payments) are primarily located in the United States. Where personal data is transferred out of the EEA/UK, we rely on adequacy decisions (including the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where our providers are certified) and/or Standard Contractual Clauses.
4. Retention
Personal data is kept while your account is active. Deleting your account (Settings → Delete account) permanently erases your profile, cats, photos, training history, and chat history. Billing records may be retained where required by tax law.
5. Your rights
- Access — get a copy of your data (Settings → Download all my data, instant JSON export).
- Rectification — correct your data (editable in-app: name, cats, breeds, notes).
- Erasure — delete your data (Settings → Delete account, immediate).
- Portability — your JSON export is machine-readable.
- Restriction and objection — email us and we will review promptly.
- Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, withdraw it anytime without affecting prior processing.
To exercise any right, use the in-app tools above or email [email protected]. We respond within one month.
6. Complaints
You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. We would appreciate the chance to resolve any concern first — write to us anytime.
7. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 16 in the EEA/UK. We do not knowingly process children's data; if you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
